This Gangnam Style spoof was filmed during our first ever fisheries expedition to the Indian Ocean. On this eight-week expedition, we collaborated with the governments of Mozambique and Maldives to monitor their Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZs) for pirate fishing, and had their enforcement officers on board with us.
We also conducted our own monitoring of key fishing areas and in total observed 37 tuna and shark fishing boats, we boarded 11 of them and documented 5 illegal fishing activities with 2 more cases still under investigations.
