Aleister Crowley: Magick, Rock and Roll, and the Wickedest Man in the World by Gary Lachman

This definitive work on the occult’s “great beast” traces the arc of his controversial life and influence on rock-and-roll giants, from the Rolling Stones to Led Zeppelin to Black Sabbath.

When Aleister Crowley died in 1947, he was not an obvious contender for the most enduring pop-culture figure of the next century. But twenty years later, Crowley’s name and image were everywhere. The Beatles put him on the cover of  Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. The Rolling Stones were briefly serious devotees. Today, his visage hangs in goth clubs, occult temples, and college dorm rooms, and his methods of ceremonial magick animate the passions of myriad occultists and spiritual seekers.

Aleister Crowley is more than just a biography of this compelling, controversial, and divisive figure—it’s also a portrait of his unparalleled influence on modern pop culture.

The Crowley Tarot: The Handbook to the Cards by Hajo Banzhaf

Perdurabo, Revised and Expanded Edition: The Life of Aleister Crowley by Richard Kaczynski

A rigorously researched biography of the founder of modern magick, as well as a study of the occult, sexuality, Eastern religion, and more

The name “Aleister Crowley” instantly conjures visions of diabolic ceremonies and orgiastic indulgences—and while the sardonic Crowley would perhaps be the last to challenge such a view, he was also much more than “the Beast,” as this authoritative biography shows.

Perdurabo—entitled after the magical name Crowley chose when inducted into the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn—traces Crowley’s remarkable journey from his birth as the only son of a wealthy lay preacher to his death in a boarding house as the world’s foremost authority on magick. Along the way, he rebels against his conservative religious upbringing; befriends famous artists, writers, and philosophers (and becomes a poet himself); is attacked for his practice of “the black arts”; and teaches that science and magick can work together. While seeking to spread his infamous philosophy of, “Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law,” Crowley becomes one of the most notorious figures of his day.

Based on Richard Kaczynski’s twenty years of research, and including previously unpublished biographical details, Perdurabo paints a memorable portrait of the man who inspired the counterculture and influenced generations of artists, punks, wiccans, and other denizens of the demimonde.

The Book of Thoth: A Short Essay on the Tarot of the Egyptians, Being the Equinox Volume III No. V by Aleister Crowley , The Master Therion

This book describes the philosophy and the use of Aleister Crowley's Thoth Tarot, a deck of Tarot cards designed by Crowley and co-designed and painted by Lady Frieda Harris. The Thoth Tarot has become one of the best-selling and most popular Tarot Decks in the world.
It is also one of the most original interpretations of the tarot, incorporating astrological, numerological, Egyptian, and Qabalistic symbolism. While there are many other useful guides to this famous tarot deck, there are no others that explain the deck in its designer's own words.

The book is divided into four major parts:
* Part One: The Theory Of The Tarot.
* Part Two: The Atu (Keys or Trumps).
* Part Three: The Court Cards.
* Part Four: The Small Cards.

Part One is further divided into three chapters; Part Two into two chapters and an appendix; Part Three into one chapter; and Part Four into one chapter. The book includes a list of plates depicting the Tarot cards as seen by Crowley and Harris.
There is an Appendix A: the use of the Tarot in the Art of Divination; and an Appendix B which includes the obiter dictum: "the 'correspondences' are not arbitrary". Appendix B also includes the Key Scale of the Tree of Life with the conic sections of mathematics and a diagram attributing the trigrams of the I Ching to the ten Sephirot.

The Works of Aleister Crowley [Three volumes] by Aleister Crowley

Diary of a Drug Fiend and Other Works by Aleister Crowley by Aleister Crowley

If you are interested in the arcane, the occult, the erotic or the highs and lows of drug addiction, then this book is for you. A piece of fiction inspired by Crowley's own experience of drugs and first published in 1922, Diary of a Drug Fiend follows Sir Peter Pendragon, a veteran pilot of World War I, who comes into money and saves himself from life-sapping indolence by marrying Louise Laleham, a devotee of the occultist Basil King Lamus. The couple marry and leave for Europe on honeymoon, then return to England to fight their demons as the book paints a vivid picture of their love set against a lifestyle of decadence, addiction and 'magick'. An uplifting and inspiring work of literary genius. Provides insight into the truth about drug-taking as well as psychological insight into the mind of an addict. A must-read for those interested in the occult. 'We must conquer life by living it to the full, and then we can go to meet death with a certain prestige.' Aleister Crowley

The Book of the Law by Aleister Crowley

"Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law." This oftmisunderstood phrase, which forms the basis for Crowley's practice of Magick, is found in The Book of the Law. Dictated to Crowley in Cairo between noon and 1:00p.m. on three successive days in April 1904, The Book of the Law is the source book and key for Crowley students and for the occult in general. The holy text that forms the basis of Crowley's belief system, Thelema, was transmitted to him by the entity known as Aiwass over the course of three fateful April days in 1904. With his wife Rose as the medium for what would become known as the Cairo Working, Crowley dutifully transcribed the communications on hotel stationery. This work contains the corrected text of the 1938 edition with a facsimile of the handwritten manuscript.

Magick in Theory and Practice by Aleister Crowley

Aleister Crowley | MAGICK IN THEORY AND PRACTICE | True to Original Copy | "Magick in Theory and Practice" is part III of "Magick, Book 4" by the occultist Aleister Crowley. Widely regarded as his major work, it is an extensive treatise on magick, a system of Western occult practice synthesized from many sources, including Eastern yoga, hermeticism, medieval grimoires, contemporary magical theories by authors such as Eliphas Levi and Helena Blavatsky, and Crowleys own original contributions. Part III is perhaps the most influential section within Book 4. In this part, magick is defined in Crowleys famous "Introduction", which is the source of many well-known statements, such as "Magick is the Science and Art of causing Change to occur in conformity with Will." | "Magick is the method of science and the aim of religion." | "Every intentional act is a Magical act." | "Magick is the Science of understanding oneself and one's conditions. It is the Art of applying that understanding in action." | "Magick is merely to be and to do." The book contains many influential essays on various magical formulae, such as Tetragrammaton, Thelema, Agape, AUMGN, and iao. The section also addresses fundamental magical theorems, essential components of ritual, and general practices (e.g. banishing, consecration, invocation, divination, etc.).

Decameron 57: The Dual Nature of Silence di Sàndor Halmosi

I Would Leave Me If I Could.: A Collection of Poetry by Halsey
